BRISMES is coming to King's College London

We’re delighted to announce that the annual conference of the British Society for Middle Eastern Studies (BRISMES) will be coming to King’s College London in 2018! The BRISMES conference is the largest annual gathering in Europe of academic specialists on the Middle East, drawing hundreds of representatives from universities in the UK, North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa. Its multidisciplinary approach allows for exchange of ideas between researchers working on the politics, history, economies, societies and cultures of one of the world’s most politically important and culturally vibrant regions. It is particularly exciting to be able to host the BRISMES conference in the heart of a global city like London, with its thriving Middle East studies scene.

The conference will take place from 25 June 2018. To stay abreast of further details as they are confirmed, sign up to the King’s Department of Middle Eastern Studies mailing list, keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter feeds, and follow the Twitter hashtag #BRISMES2018.

In the meantime, we’re looking forward to this year’s BRISMES conference at the University of Edinburgh:
