Biography

Dr Simon Kaye is Teaching Fellow in the departments of Political Economy and Liberal Arts, overseeing the politics major pathway for liberal arts students. He works on democratic theory and political epistemology, researching the possibility of political theory that is realistic about the knowledge, beliefs, and pluralised objectives of actual democratic citizens. These ideas are explored through research and teaching in the areas of political theory, British politics, history, and academic methods.

Simon completed his PhD at King's College London, his Masters at the London School of Economics, and his undergraduate degree at Queen Mary, University of London. He has worked at UCL's Constitution Unit, the School of Politics and International Relations at QMUL, the Hansard Society, and Arcadia University.

His current projects include a collaboration on deliberative democracy and 'voting advice apps', a paper on the problems with neuro-determinism in political research, and a book adapted from part of his PhD thesis.
