Dr. Marco Giani joined the Department of Political Economy (DPE) at King’s College London (KCL) as a Lecturer in Economics in September 2018. Prior to this, he was a Research Fellow in the Political Economy group (PSPE) of the Department of Government at the London School of Economics (LSE), and a Teaching Fellow in Public Policy in the Bartlett Development Planning Unit (DPU) at University College of London (UCL). He studied Social Science at the Università degli studi di Firenze (UNIFI) and received a PhD in Economics in 2017 from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
Marco`s main field is in the formal and quantitative analysis of multidimensional electoral competition and inequality in political participation, with application on current issues such as terrorism and immigration.
Marco teaches a module in Microeconomics to 2nd year students at the BSc Economics.
