Self-Governance

The Self - Governance research group studies the ability of individuals, communities, and non-state organizations to develop and enforce rules of conduct and social interaction that realise gains from cooperation. This includes both theoretical and empirical research covering a wide range of topics in political economy.

Our current research areas include:

  • Extra-legal governance   
  • Relationships between self-governance and government
  • Robust political economy
  • Rules ordering market and management relationships
  • Social norms
