Dr Tara Mahfoud


Tara Mahfoud is a Research Associate in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine (GHSM), King’s College London. At the Foresight Lab, Tara explores the social, political and economic context and implications of developments in the neurosciences in Europe. She completed her PhD, an ethnography of brain modelling and simulation in the European Union’s Human Brain Project, in 2018 at GHSM. Before starting her PhD, Tara worked for three years as a Program Manager at the American University of Beirut’s Policy Institute. She holds a master’s degree in Social Anthropology from SOAS, University of London and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the American University of Beirut.
