This talk will explore the complexities of the shifting command relationships in Afghanistan during both the American-led Operation Enduring Freedom and the NATO International Security Assistance Force mission. In particular, it will consider how multinational field commanders manage the interests of their home capital and those of countries contributing troops to the coalition and alliance.
