King’s has launched a new Academic Skills online resource for 2026-27 which features new videos, exercises and explanations on a range of skills that you may be looking to develop this year.
You can use the newly expanded KEATS site in addition to the Academic Skills programme of one-to-one tutorials and workshops which is available for all King’s students throughout the year.
What's new on KEATS?
- The resources on Academic Writing, Reading and Academic Integrity have been improved and updated.
- There are new resources on topics such as ‘Academic Communication’ and ‘Generative AI’. There is also a new resource on ‘Criticality’ which has been an area of particular interest for students given the importance of demonstrating critical analysis in academic writing and presentations.
- There is a new resource on Success where student input has provided fresh insight. In the resource, King’s students discuss what success means to them, and it looks at typical challenges that students face at different times at King’s as well as possible solutions to them.
- For the first time in these resources, academics from various faculties have provided insight by answering questions such as ‘What can students do to become better at critical thinking?’ and ‘What are you looking for in students’ work as evidence of critical thinking?’.
- There are also further new resources on academic language, assessment & feedback and research & dissertations.
