Eid Mubarak: A message from the Vice-Dean and our Muslim Chaplains

This statement is offered by the Vice-Dean in the Dean’s absence (sabbatical).

Hello, my name is Sarah Farrow and I am the Vice-Dean of King's.

I would like to wish all of our Muslim students and staff, Eid Mubarak.

This special festival of Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan - a season of fasting, prayer, reciting the Quran, and charitable giving. Many will be celebrating this festival with family and friends, giving thanks to Allah for his many blessings, including these circles of love and support.

In a moment when the world feels troubled and unsettled, many in our community may be experiencing unease, anxiety, or worry. Feelings, with the importance of these circles of love and support, become even more marked.

This is a time when we can all offer support, through patience and understanding to one another, to be a community of support and concern. There is a deep comfort to be found in the blessing of community, knowing that we do not walk through moments of uncertainty alone, but are held by the care and compassion of those around us.

For all celebrating this festival, as challenges are faced and times of joy cherished, may the blessing of community both comfort and inspire.

Eid Mubarak.
