King’s is entrepreneurial by nature. We have been striving to improve the world for nearly 200 years, from the discovery of DNA by Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin to the foundation of modern nursing by Florence Nightingale.
The world around us is rapidly changing. Developing entrepreneurial skills like disruptive thinking, compelling communication and working in a team, are essential whether you want to start your own business or work to solve some of the world’s greatest challenges.
The Entrepreneurship Institute believe that everyone can be entrepreneurial. The team host events, activities and competitions throughout the year to help you develop an entrepreneurial mindset so that you’re equipped with the skills needed to enhance your future, whatever that might hold.

The King’s Experience Enterprise Award
The Enterprise Award is a year-long learning programme open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students from any faculty.
You can take part alongside your studies to develop the Seven Skills of an Entrepreneurial Mindset, meet like-minded students and gain new experiences.
To obtain the Award, students participate in a variety of learning experiences and opportunities, including:
- An entrepreneurial skills self-assessment
- Building a team through a group activity
- Attending workshops
- Independent learning
- Practicing compelling communication techniques through a peer-assessed pitch task
The Award will then go on your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) and make your CV really stand out!
The award will open again in October 2022 and you can register your interest online.
Last year 94 King’s students received the Award, and we caught up with some of them to find out about their experience.
