As you know, Universities and College Union (UCU) has a mandate for industrial action at King’s which runs from Monday 23 May to Friday 7 October 2022.
UCU has confirmed that the action short of strike will not now include an assessment and marking boycott for assessment period 2 as originally planned and there will be no impact on your assessments.
Please continue to undertake all your assessments as scheduled. We will ensure that you are not disadvantaged if any learning or teaching has been missed due to strike action. We will also ensure that we maintain our academic quality and high standards and the integrity of your King’s College London degree will not be compromised.
All other aspects of Action Short of Strike (ASOS), which is when staff take other action such as limiting some of their work-related activities outside of any strike days, will continue until Friday 7 October 2022. At this time, ASOS at King’s now consists of staff members only working their contracted hours and duties and not volunteering to do more, not rescheduling classes and lectures cancelled due to strike action, not covering for absent colleagues, removing uploaded materials related to, and/or not sharing materials related to lectures or classes that will be or have been cancelled as a result of strike action.
At this time, we have not been notified of any further strike days. If there are any changes or updates, including any additional strike days or other forms of ASOS, we will of course notify you.
