Navigating your Welcome to King's

This year, our Welcome to King’s programme is for new and returning students. Welcome to King’s January 2022 will take place over two weeks, from Monday 10 to Friday 21 January 2022.

The rest of this article will give you an overview of what you can expect during Welcome to King's.

Life at King's App

Our Life at King’s App is your main tool for finding out what’s going on during Welcome to King's . You can use the app to discover:

  • Essential information about joining Kings
  • Our full range of services that can support you during your studies
  • More information about your faculty inductions
    • Virtual tours of our campuses and explore our events schedule, where you can choose from a range of workshops, sessions, and activities.

​​​​​​How can I download the Life at King’s App?

  1. You'll need to download the Life at King’s app from the App store (you can download onto iOS and Android.)  ​​​​​​
  2. Once you have downloaded the app, to access the Welcome to King’s Guide for this year, you’ll need to enter our passphrase  reggielion22 (no spaces). ​​​​​
  3. When you've downloaded the app, you will need to create an account; we advise that you use your King's email address to create an account. ​​​​​​
  4. Once you've set up your account, allow 'push notifications' on your device, so you can receive important messages throughout Welcome. ​​​;You will need to enter our passphrase reggielion22 (no spaces)
  5. You can also find the Life at King's app and Welcome to King's Guide directly on our webpages.

I can’t access the Life at King's app on my mobile?

If you can't access the app on a tablet or mobile device, you can access the desktop version at https://bit.ly/welcometokings. To get access, you will need to enter our passphrase reggielion22 (no spaces).

How can I book sessions without the app?

Our student ambassadors on Unibuddy will be able to help book you onto any events if you are unable to do so via the Life at King’s app.

What is Unibuddy?

Unibuddy is our online platform, which  provides students with a support line during and after Welcome. Unibuddy will run from 5 January 2022 to Friday 20 May 2022.

You can use Unibuddy to: 

  • Connect with our Student Ambassadors, who can help you with a wide range of topics, including life at King's as a student  
  • Learn more about our King's community 
  • Read blogs written by student ambassadors on studying at King's and life in London

Unibuddy will also feature a list of Student Ambassador profiles with an option to click and chat with each ambassador. 

How do I access Unibuddy? 
You can access Unibuddy on our webpages.

How long will it take to get a response to my query on Unibuddy? 
Our Student Ambassadors will aim to respond to your query within 24 hours. 

Important to know:  Unibuddy is accessible internationally, and our Student Ambassadors will work to accommodate multiple time zones to suit the needs of our international community.  

What is Kaltura?

Kaltura  is a video streaming platform where content can be streamed, shared, and stored, from lectures, sessions, workshops, activities to events that run during Welcome to King's .

Important to know:  Life at  King's sessions will be uploaded onto our Life at King’s channel on Kaltura, where you can revisit or explore any sessions that you missed during Welcome to King’s.

What is Keats?

KEATS (King’s E-Learning and Teaching Services) is a virtual platform that supports teaching and learning within King’s. This platform allows learning materials to be electronically uploaded and accessed by students and includes interactive features such as assessments, discussions, and assignments.    Each faculty has a specific space within KEATS where you can access information that is relevant to your course. Your  faculty or department will give you more information about how to use KEATS in the following weeks.     

How can I access KEATS? 

KEATS is accessible through Single Sign-On.
