Transport strike action this September

An empty train aisle

Transport workers are due to go on strike on the following dates, which will cause disruption to public transport and on the roads:

  • Thursday 15 September - National rail strikes, minimal or no service. There will be some disruption to London Overground, Tube and Elizabeth line services. Most TfL services will continue to run.
  • Friday 16 September - Bus strikes affecting some routes in west and southwest London and parts of Surrey
  • Saturday 17 September - National rail strikes, limited service. Bus strikes affecting some routes in west and southwest London and parts of Surrey

Further strike action will also cause disruption to some parts of the rail network during the following time:

  • Monday 26 September, 12.00 - Tuesday 27 September, 12.00

Please check before you travel on these days and seek out alternate transport arrangements, though do be aware the disruptions will have knock-on effects to other services. Use active travel where possible to avoid long delays.

The university will be open as usual but some access points may be closed. Please look out for signage directing you to the nearest entrance or exit.

If you are travelling to and from campus or over the weekend, please check the National Rail and Transport for London websites before you travel. Tubes, buses and taxis will be very busy on the strike days and you should allow extra time for your journey.
