Department of Music

Studying Music here means you are close to many of the capital’s world-class music venues and taught by staff who passionately believe in the central role of music in today’s culture.

Our research strengths include music and cultural history from the medieval period to the twenty-first century, composition and performance studies, opera, jazz and film music, the ethnomusicology of South Asia, Latin American and the Middle East. Composers benefit from workshops given by visiting professional musicians including the ensemble Lontano.

We’ve brought together several items to give you all the information you need about the course. Don’t forget you can contact a current King’s student on Unibuddy at any time with questions you might have.
