School of Global Affairs Hardship Fund 2021-22

The School of Global Affairs Hardship Fund is a limited fund aimed to help students of the school facing financial difficulties during their studies at King’s College London.

How do I apply?

In order to be eligible, you must be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate course with one of the academic departments comprising the School of Global Affairs:


The hardship fund is open to both Home, EU and International students.

To apply, complete the application form and submit it by email to funding@kcl.ac.uk.


Students who choose not to take student loans

Students who are choosing not to take up their entitlement to Student Finance for religious reasons are able to apply, but should refer to the relevant page on our website. When submitting your application to the hardship fund, please enclose a completed declaration form.


When should I apply?

Students will be able to apply for the hardship fund each term. The deadlines to apply are as follows:

  • Friday 11th March 2022*
  • Friday 22nd April 2022
  • Friday 27th May 2022

Students may submit more than one application per year, but priority will be given to students who have not already received support from the fund.

Please be aware that for the first application deadline, we will only consider continuing students who were enrolled during the previous 2020-21 academic year. Both new and continuing students will be considered for the April and May application deadlines.

The Advice team run weekly drop-in sessions, can be contacted via email and have a dedicated Advice telephone line. Full information about the Student Advice service can be found on their webpage.
