W. Blyzinskyj Sanctuary Scholarship 2022-23

What is the W. Blyzinskyj Ukrainian Sanctuary Scholarship?

The W. Blyzinskyj Ukrainian Sanctuary Scholarship is a three-year undergraduate scholarship worth £75,000 available to one displaced undergraduate student from Ukraine in 2022-23. The scholarship will cover a full tuition-fee waiver and an annual stipend for living expenses

The scholarship will be comprised of a full tuition fee waiver and a living costs bursary, for a maximum of 3 years, starting September 2022. The scholarship will cover:

a)       Home Tuition Fees of £9,250 per annum

b)       An annual living bursary of £15,000

c)       A flexible fund of £750 per annum which the student can apply to for support for a range of expenses related to their degree.

Please note this fund can only cover 3 years’ of tuition fees and you will need to make other arrangements for any additional year(s) of your programme if your degree includes a Year Abroad or Placement/Industry year.

Am I eligible?

The scholarship is currently open to undergraduate students who are already holding offers to start a degree course in September 2022. As part of the scholarship process, we will undertake checks on your eligibility for the scheme (e.g. fee status, immigration, and offer conditions for admission).

All undergraduate (Bachelors) courses are eligible. Preference will be given to those who intend to return to Ukraine and who will undertake an Undergraduate degree that supports this ambition

Applicants must be ordinarily resident in Ukraine or displaced in or outside of Ukraine and at risk of persecution, violence or conflict.  The scholarship aims to remedy the disadvantage faced by students in accessing higher education, following the war on Ukraine.

Please note that meeting the eligibility criteria alone does not guarantee a successful outcome.

How do I apply?

The application for the W. Blyzinskyj Ukrainian Sanctuary Scholarship is made alongside the Sanctuary Hub Sanctuary Scholarships for the academic year 2022-23. By completing this online application form you will thus be considered for both scholarships.

Please note, it is not possible to save and return to your application. You will therefore need to complete the application in one sitting.

Application deadline
