There are a variety of options available for postgraduate students wishing to add an international aspect to their degree at King's. Please consult the information for students on both postgraduate research and postgraduate taught programmes below.
Current postgraduate research students can undertake a period of research abroad, subject to approval from their supervisor, Head of Department at King's and an academic supervisor at the host university.
Discussing study plans with your supervisor and Head of Department at King's, as well as arranging a supervisor at your host university are the responsibility of the student, however the Global Mobility Office are happy to answer any queries you may have.
When you have finalised your placement details with both your department at King's and the host university, please ensure you send an email to email@example.com so that your study abroad activity can be recorded.
Postgraduate taught students on the European Studies MA (French or German pathway) may spend a study period at a partner university within their degree. Please refer to the relevant programme for further details. Please visit our regional webpages to find out more about the institutions on offer after having browsed the options below.
In some instances, MA/MSc students on other programmes may be able to spend a period abroad during their dissertation semester. They are advised to seek approval from their department in the first instance before contacting the Global Mobility team.

Global Research Grant
Postgraduate students completing research that will help sustain and further develop King's international partnerships are eligible to apply for Global Research Grant funding. There are several deadlines for applications across the academic year. Please view the Global Research Grant webpage for more details.

Centre for Doctoral Studies (CDS) at King's
The Centre for Doctoral Studies at King's has its own database for postgraduate funding, including some highly prestigious scholarships to institutions such as MIT and Harvard.
China - UK PhD Placements and Supervisor Mobility Grants
Grants to sponsor PhD students and their supervisors from the UK to spend a period of study of between three and 12 months (for PhD students) and up to three months (for supervisors) at higher education institutions in China. Placements must start between January and December 2016.
UK PhD applicants should be UK passport holders. Candidates of other nationalities must hold passports from countries that have diplomatic relations with China.

Fulbright Commission Postgraduate Student Awards
The US-UK Fulbright Commission provides grants to UK students to pursue a postgraduate degree in the US or to attend a US university as a 'visiting student researcher'.

ACU Blue Charter Fellowships
The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) has been awarded funding to launch a new fellowship scheme, designed to support world-class research and innovation in marine plastics.
ACU Blue Charter Fellowships will offer talented researchers 2-3 month placements at ACU member universities across the Commonwealth, as well as in industry – with a focus on these three core areas:

JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research in Japan
The JSPS Summer Program is implemented as a component of the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research in Japan. It provides opportunities for young pre- and post-doctoral researchers from North America and Europe to receive an orientation on Japanese culture and research systems and to pursue research under the guidance of host researchers at Japanese universities and research institutes over a period of two months during the summer.
