Sport & Activity at Residences

BeActive Halls

The BeActive Halls programme gives all King’s College London halls’ residents exclusive access to weekly sports, fitness and physical activity. Students can enjoy 5-a-side football, yoga, spinning, swimming, tennis, fitness bootcamps, boxfit and much more for FREE. Part of the wider BeActive programme at the university, BeActive Halls is run by fellow students and delivered by King’s Sport.

The aim is simple: to offer fun, weekly social sport and exercise that is quite literally on your doorstep. That is why this term there are over 40 sessions weekly. Every session takes place within walking distance of a halls of residence or King’s campus, and all students living in halls of residence can attend any session at any of the locations, regardless of experience or how sporty you think you are.

How do I get involved?

To attend BeActive Halls sessions, visit our website and scroll down to view our booking widget and book on! If you don’t already have one, you will need to make yourself an OpenPlay account - it’s free and only takes a minute.

Once you’ve done that, just turn up to the session with your King’s College London student ID and you’re ready to play!

Please note: Students opting to live in University of London halls of residence will not be eligible for BeActive Halls but you can buy a membership for just £25 to attend all BeActive Standard sessions all year round.

King's Gyms in Residences

King’s Sport Health and Fitness aim to provide all students studying at King’s with the opportunity to exercise no matter where they are living.

We therefore now have gyms located near to, or in the following halls:

Our campus gym facilities will include the StrandLondon Bridge and Waterloo  gyms for the 2018/19 academic year.

What other King’s gyms do I have access to?

All students living in Great Dover Street Apartments and Champion Hill will have peak access to their gym located in the hall and off-peak access to London Bridge and Waterloo gyms (can be upgraded to peak access for £30).

Students living in Stamford Street Apartments will receive free peak memberships for London Bridge and Waterloo gyms (for 40 weeks of the year only).

How do I get access?

To activate membership and access to gyms, students must complete the online form sent via email by Resident Hall Managers. Students are granted access by activation of their student ID at the residence apartment front desk.
