Welfare Lead 2019

Make your mark as a volunteer Residences Welfare Lead!

Residences Welfare Leads are volunteer post-graduate students or full-time employees at King’s College London who support the King’s Residences team by volunteering to assist with the welfare and conduct of students living in residences. This role in previous years has been known as “Residences Warden”, but this year the volunteer post has been given a fresh new title to better reflect the responsibilities undertaken by our incredible volunteers! Being a Residences Welfare Lead at King’s College London is an excellent opportunity for those wanting to get more involved with activities that directly impact student experience as well as developing skills that will enrich your lives and CVs! This is a great opportunity for those looking to make a real impact to students that would otherwise find life at university very hard.

We encourage anyone interested in this volunteer opportunity to attend a “Becoming a Residences Welfare Lead” session on the dates below. These sessions offer greater insight into the 2 volunteer position types available and will support your understanding when applying for a vacancy.

What our Residences Welfare Lead have to say about the job

For me it would be feeling that I’ve made a positive impact on the experience of some of the students here, and helped them progress throughout their year.

Residences Welfare Lead

As a King's College London member of staff I didn't have much previous interaction with students. It's been great to meet a variety of students and support them during their journey at King's.
