Moving in: frequently asked questions

When is moving in weekend?

Moving in weekend will be the 14 and 15 September 2019. You will receive an invitation by email from 19th August onwards with the arrival slot options.

Can I arrive prior to 14 September 2019?

When completing your accommodation application you were given the option to request to arrive early. The earliest arrival date we offer is Monday 9th September.

Will there be an additional charge for early arrival?

If you wish to start your tenancy before 14 September 2019, irrespective of the date in which you select to arrive, your contract will automatically have a start date of 9th September 2019 and you will be charged an extra week’s rent.

I am required to provide proof of my booking with King’s Residences for visa purposes, who should I contact to get proof of residence?

For any information on visa application please visit the visa advice page.

Due to unexpected issues, including delayed visa applications, I will not be able to arrive for the main move-in days. Will the accommodation be held open for me until I arrive?

If your arrival date will be after the official moving in date specified in your offer e-mail, you will need to notify Kingsresidences@kcl.ac.uk. If your arrival date is after 20 September 2019 you must make non-refundable payment of your residence fee for the first month via the online payment portal (www.kcl.ac.uk/feepay) and forward the email that you receive from the College acknowledging this payment to Kingsresidences@kcl.ac.uk (subject heading: Late Arrival Payment).  Any advance payment will be deducted from the outstanding residence fee once you have moved into the accommodation.
