Development Theory and Contemporary Debates (Module)

Module description

This second-year module is designed to help students learn and apply development theories to analyse development challenges in emerging economies. The module will be split into two parts, one focusing on economics and one on political science, ensuring students receive a multi-disciplinary training. They will learn how to apply basic economics and political science tools to critically engage in debates about the transformation processes occurring in emerging economies. The module will address different perspectives of development theory, equipping students with the key knowledge needed to take the specialised options offered in year 2.
