Module description
This module introduces the social dimensions of climate change. It explains the different ways in which climate knowledge is constructed and explores how climate is represented and articulated in society. It explores existing theories regarding societal vulnerability and resilience to climatic variability and discusses development challenges. Existing fears and narratives around climate change are places in an historical perspective. The module also discusses the contribution of the study of climate adaptation in the past to contemporary challenges.
