Analytical techniques and numerical methods for analytical toxicologists (Module)

Module description

This module builds on the ‘Core Analytical Science’ module providing you with an advanced understanding of the major techniques used in analytical toxicology.  We build on your core knowledge of sample extraction and the mass spectrometric/spectroscopic techniques and introduce immunoassays and the use of gas chromatography. The module also introduces basic numerical methods and statistics used in validating analytical methods and determining whether they are fit for purpose. The content of the module is framed within the analytical toxicology field and examples of applications are considered within this context.
