The dissertation is an opportunity for students to design and independently execute a substantial piece of research on a subject of their own choice. Its objective is to consolidate, extend and apply the knowledge and skills they will have developed through the taught elements of the master’s programme and demonstrate the sort of autonomous learning and independent inquiry that is the hallmark of postgraduate study. Students will be supported in helping to select a topic for your dissertation and to design a plan for researching it in two ways. The programme has a compulsory research methods module which include a suite of associated small-group tutorials.
