Global Affairs Capstone Project (Module)

Module description

The Global Affairs dissertation module will enable students to define and execute their own independent research project on a subject of relevance to one or more of the regions under study in the programme. Students will receive training in applied research methods providing them with guidance on how to formulate research questions, choose and apply an appropriate methodology and to situate their project within the state-of-the-art in academic and non-academic research in their chosen field. They will formulate a dissertation proposal and work one-to-one with a supervisor who has expertise in their field to produce a dissertation of up to 12,000 words. Where relevant and feasible, students will be encouraged to consider working with material in the language of the region(s) they are researching.
