This module considers how global health issues play out in local clinical practice. It uses participant observation in reproductive health care settings to understand how international debates on population control, human rights, gender and stigma affect health care services that serve diverse and mobile communities. It draws on ideas from urban anthropology and migration studies and applies these to health care delivery in Lambeth and Southwark. NB students who undertake clinical attachments as part of this module will need to be DBS checked.
