Module Rationale and Aims:
The module covers the principles and practice of public health as applied to health care. After completing the module you will appreciate how public health methods can bring a population perspective to the planning, commissioning and evaluation of health services. The module will draw on a wide range of health service examples, from primary care through to specialist services, to provide context for the module.
Module Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the module, students will have developed an understanding of health care public health and how public health methods can be used to plan, commission and evaluate new services, and changes to existing services, with the aim of improving population health outcomes.
