Module description

In this module, participants will be introduced to an overview of recent developments in mathematics education research. This will include the exploration of research being undertaken at King’s and in context of recent developments more widely. The topics will draw upon the following areas:

  • Mathematics knowledge and pedagogical issues
  • International comparisons
  • Teacher professional development for mathematics practices
  • Digital technologies in mathematics education
  • Mathematics within STEM
  • Embodied approaches to mathematic learning
  • Engaging in mathematics learning
  • Student mathematical productions
  • Assessment issues for mathematics learning
  • Interdisciplinary research and practice
