A compulsory fundamental module. In its essence research is about creating new knowledge and, in this course, you will learn methods both to formulate approaches to answer new questions and to evaluate the methodologies used and therefore the confidence that we can have in the results from published research. This Module will also explore how to understand and critique the scientific literature, and also how to design and undertake your own research.
The aims of the module are to:
- Develop an overview of research methods – empirical & naturalistic
- Acquire a sound knowledge and understanding of biostatistics of tests
- Develop the skills for critical appraisal of evidence – structured literature reviews
