All students undertake a 14-week research project that starts in May and runs through to the end of August with assessments in September. These projects are usually as external placements at leading clinical and forensic toxicology laboratories such as Alere Toxicology and LGC
Our Department has collaborations and affiliations with a number of private toxicology laboratories as well as links to clinical laboratories based at a number of NHS Trusts
The list of project titles is put up in late March and students may select up to two projects that interest them. Selection is competitive but as far as possible we try and ensure that students are matched to their area and company of interest.
The first week of the project is spent at King’s and is a series of talks and workshops designed to prepare students for independent research.
