Private Equity (Module)

Module description

Private equity has grown enormously over the last 20 years. A typical private equity transaction involves the acquisition of a business by borrowing money from a third party which is to be repaid with the business’s own cash flows; until repayment the business’s assets secure the outstanding debt. The module analyses the economic rationale and legal nature of these transactions, and addresses policy concerns in terms of disclosure and transparency, as well as minority shareholder and employee protection.
