Pre-University Summer School International Relations (Module)

Module description

Are you interested in how different countries work together on an international political level? Study this module if you are interested in a closer examination of specific political challenges, such as the role and power of international organisations in responding to current global issues. You will benefit from a range of course activities, live seminars and guided study designed to broaden your understanding of today’s political landscape.

Ideal if you are considering undergraduate study in Politics or International Relations and related subjects, the course will introduce participants to core aspects of studying Politics at this level.

This course comprises of approximately 30 contact hours with teaching taking place from Monday to Friday. 

Learning outcomes and objectives

By the end of the module, you should have:

  • experienced a variety of learning activities typical of a first year undergraduate degree in Politics
  • built on your existing knowledge of core topics covered in a first year undergraduate degree in Politics
  • carried out independent research on a given topic and produced a structured and well supported response to an assignment brief
  • worked collaboratively in diverse groups to produce a presentation
