In order to be eligible, you must be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate course with one of the academic departments comprising the School of Global Affairs:

• African Leadership Centre
• Brazil Institute
• Geography
• Global Health & Social Medicine
• India Institute
• International Development
• Lau China Institute

The hardship fund is open to Home, EU and International students.

Students will be able to apply for the hardship fund each term. The deadlines to apply are as follows:

1. Friday 5th December 2025
2. Friday 6th March 2026
3. Friday 8th May 2026

Students may submit more than one application per year, but priority will be given to students who have not already received support from the fund.
