Our Biomedical & Molecular Sciences Research programme gives you the flexibility to choose tostudy for a Masters of Science (MSc) or an extended Masters of Research (MRes) qualification. You will study Skills and Topics in Biomedical & Molecular Sciences Research, Advanced Bioscience Research Laboratory Techniques, Workshops and an extended research project.
The MSc pathway requires modules totaling 180 credits, and this includes a six-month research project and dissertation worth 60 credits.
If you choose to study for the MRes qualification, you will be required to study modules totalling 240 credits, which will include a nine-month research project and dissertation worth 120 credits.
If you are studying for the MSc qualification, you will complete the programme in one year, from September to September. The Masters of Research will take 16 months to complete, and you will study from September to January.
This programme is primarily taught at the King’s College London Guy’s and Waterloo Campuses, but some projects are also based at Denmark Hill, St Thomas’ Hospital or the Francis Crick Institute. Some areas of the programme include national and international collaborations, and this means you occasionally may be assigned to other labs (for example as part of the research enhancement Scholarships awarded to some students on our programme).
