Our Master of Public Health (MPH) is a multidisciplinary programme that covers a wide range of disciplines which are required for leadership roles in public health. The programme equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to engage in national and global public health concerns.

Key benefits

  • Reflects breadth of the public health discipline and taught by experienced academics and researchers from epidemiology, statistics, social sciences, health economics, global health, and public health.
  • Offers rich global public health perspectives as well as unique UK insight, with emphasis on the prevention and control of disease.
  • Regular speakers from local NHS bodies and central government agencies such as the UK Health Security Agency and the Department of Health.
  • Combines the development of a strong interdisciplinary foundation in public health with the opportunity to develop specialist expertise through the dissertation project.

Course essentials

Understand the complexity of public health issues and the importance of context. The programme will examine the key disciplines informing public health practice and policy. Students will develop wider transferrable skills around critical analysis and problem solving.
