Supervision for research students
The King’s Handbook for Supervisors provides all the guidance and information supervisors need. It allows them to supervise their students to timely and successful completion and submission of their theses.
What to expect
As a postgraduate research student you are assigned a primary supervisor, a second supervisor or supervisory panel and sometimes a postgraduate co-coordinator. Your School is responsible for ensuring that suitable supervisory arrangements are provided for your work.
Supervisory development
The development and support for postgraduate research supervisors draws on best practice. The Researcher Development Unit (RDU) in the Graduate School runs a programme of workshops and discussion groups for all supervisors throughout the academic year.
Supervisory Excellence Awards
The Supervisory Excellence Awards recognise and reward postgraduate supervisors for the outstanding supervision and support that they offer research students at King’s.
