Who are we?
We are the What Works Department, part of King’s College London. If you need to contact us about this privacy notice, please write to whatworks@kcl.ac.uk.
Why do we process your personal information?
We process your personal information to conduct research and analysis and to improve the services and support offered to you as a King’s student.
What is our ‘legal basis for processing’?
Data protection legislation allows us to use your personal information in this way because it is for the purpose of performing our official functions as a teaching and research institution: to conduct service evaluations, understand the experience of students at King’s, and identify areas where student experience could be enhanced.
How long do we keep your information for?
We will keep your information until it no longer serves to identify enhancements to the student experience, in order to continue to build up an accurate picture of what has and hasn’t worked historically (regarding elements of university life that impact on social mobility and student success in higher education).
Do we share your information with other organisations?
We may need to share your information with our service providers for the purposes outlined above, but we will ensure that appropriate contracts with these parties are in place and they only process your information in accordance with our instructions and data protection legislation.
What are your rights and who can you contact if you have a concern?
To find out more about how the university deals with your personal information, including your rights and who to contact if you have a concern, please see the university’s core privacy notice at https://www.kcl.ac.uk/terms/privacy.aspx.
