The King’s College London School Governor Network is an exciting initiative which forms part of the university's widening participation strategy. We are looking to increase the numbers of university staff serving as governors in local schools and provide training to enhance their skills for the role.

The School Governors Network is a community of staff members at King's College London who are school governors and academy trustees who receive support by the university's Widening Participation Department. Benefits of joining the School Governors Network include:

• A membership package of The Key to provide our staff with a high quality and easy to use information and guidance online resource.
• Access to a calendar of training sessions focused on pressing topics in school governance.
• Support and resources to provide staff governors with the knowledge and confidence to help under-represented students in their schools progress to higher education.
• The opportunity to meet and network with other school governors who work at King's College London.

Section 3.6 of the harmonised Terms and Conditions of employment for staff at King's College London allow for school governors to take time off within their contractual hours at the discretion of their line manager for requirements associated with the role.

King's College London is committed to providing its staff with the opportunity to become a school governor. By joining the School Governor Network, we can provide staff with advice and assistance in their school governor application.

To become a school governor, we encourage you to register and apply with our partners at Governors for Schools.

We are keen to provide support to all governors, at state schools, independent schools, FE and sixth form colleges and primary schools.
