Accommodation

Staying in King’s accommodation not only allows you to experience life as a King’s student but is also an easy way to make friends with fellow summer students. It is one of the best and most affordable ways to live in central London; close to campus, classes and the tourist attractions of central London

Undergraduate Summer School Accommodation

Students who select a Residential Package on the Undergraduate Summer School will stay in King's residences for the duration of the programme.

Early application is strongly advised due to the popularity of our accommodation. Places are offered on a first-come first-served basis and students will be allocated a room once full payment of residential fees have been made.

General Information

  • An individual en-suite room (private room with connected private bathroom)

  • Your own fridge

  • Bed linen (duvet, duvet cover, pillow, pillowcase and bed sheet)

  • A communal self-catering kitchen with cooking facilities including cooker and microwave (please note utensils, plates and cutlery are not provided but can be bought relatively cheaply in the local area )

  • Gym membership

  • A campus meal allowance (see below)

All King’s residences have a 24-hour security desk, a central common room with TV, on-site laundry facilities, WiFi connectivity (including 4Mb in room internet access), CCTV cameras and secure door entry systems.

Check-in will be from 14:00 on the Sunday immediately before the summer school session starts and check-out before 10:00 on the Saturday after your session ends.

Students attending both sessions, should be allocated the same room for the complete duration of the programme.

Campus meal allowance

The accommodation package includes a meal allowance of £90 per session (equivalent of 1 meal per day, Monday-Friday) which can be spent at any campus food service. Outside of this allowance, you will be expected to pay for your own meals/food so this will need to be budgeted for. Pre-University Summer School Accommodation

General information 

Students who select a Residential Package on the  Pre-University Summer School  will stay in our central Stamford Street Apartments, located immediately opposite campus.

Early application is strongly advised due to the popularity of our accommodation. Places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis and students will be allocated a room once full payment of residential fees have been made.

The residential package includes:

  • An individual en suite room (private room with connected private bathroom)

  • Your own fridge

  • Your bed linen (duvet, duvet cover, pillow, pillowcase and bed sheet)

  • A communal self-catering kitchen with cooking facilities including cooker and microwave (please note utensils, plates and cutlery are not provided but can be bought relatively cheaply in the local area )

  • A campus meal allowance (see below)

  • Social and Sports Programme (see below)

  • 24-hour Summer Programmes staffing and dedicated pastoral ambassador (Under 18 students only)

All Pre-University students will be housed within a single gender flat. There is no mixed gender accommodation.

Over 18s

Due to our safeguarding policy, please note that students who are 18 and over will be housed separately.  King’s College London is not responsible for the supervision of these students at the accommodation and outside timetabled academic activities, however students will have 24-hour access to summer programmes staff if required.

Campus meal allowance

For Pre-University Summer School, the Residential Package includes a daily meal allowance for breakfast and lunch during the week and breakfast only on the weekend. Meals will cater for dietary and religious requirements (food allergies and specific restrictions should be confirmed in advance).

You will also enjoy a welcome meal but on most other evenings you will be free to sample the delights of London's diverse choice of restaurants.

Social and Sports Programme
