The Quacquarelli Symonds Top Universities guide is an annual score of the world’s leading universities, ranking them at an institutional level and by a range of subjects.

In the 2024 rankings, King’s was placed 12th in the world for the teaching and study of politics, an improvement on last year’s results (13th) and significantly improved on the 2021 rankings, when the university was placed 17th.

The School of Politics and Economics is home to many of King’s undergraduate and postgraduate politics and policy programmes.

Professor Peter John, head of the school, said: “I am tremendously proud of the work academic and professional services colleagues undertake to continue improving our offering to students, making us one of the best places in the world to study politics and beyond.

“That work is ongoing and ever responsive to the feedback of our students and stakeholders because we are resolved to make our programmes the best they can be.”
