King’s Health Partners has appointed new directors to join the leadership team and strengthen academic and clinical links across the partnership.

Professor Sebastien Ourselin, Professor of Healthcare Engineering and Head of the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences, has been appointed Director for Digital Health and Data Sciences at King's Health Partners.

Professor Josip Car, Professor of Population and Digital Health Sciences and Head of School of Life Course and Population Sciences, has been appointed Director for Population Health at King's Health Partners.

Digital Health and Data Sciences and Population Health are two of three strategic priorities for King's Health Partners, alongside Personalised Health, all of which will integrate mental and physical health working with King's Health Partners Mind & Body.

Professor Ourselin will lead the development and delivery of the KHP Digital Health and Data Sciences strategic priority and leads the KHP Digital Health Hub, bringing expertise together across the partnership to support the training, co-creation, translation, and the acceleration of digital technologies.

I am delighted to be appointed to the role of Director for Digital Health and Data Sciences and look forward to collaborating with our partners and building on the significant progress we have made. Integrating digital health across the partnership and the wider health system has the potential to further accelerate the discovery of new treatments, and helping people living in south east London receive faster access to care, diagnostic tools and medical technology.

Among the major population health initiatives across King's Health Partners and wider health system, Professor Car, working closely with Directors of Clinical Strategy, will play a leading role in the joint KHP and South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) Population Health & Equity programme, working with teams across King's Health Partners to improve health system's performance and accelerate at scale improvement of health outcomes.

Working together across the partnership and south east London will enhance prediction, early intervention and strengthen disease prevention and management, across diverse population groups. Our bold goal is health equity for our patients and communities - I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the King's Health Partners leadership team to help realise this ambition.
