The Oral Clinical Research Unit (OCRU) is a trials unit dedicated to research in dentistry, oral health, and oral diseases. The OCRU is part of the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences at King’s College London. The OCRU team supports expert researchers and clinicians based in King’s College London and at Guy’s and St-Thomas’ Trust with their trials.

The unit has vast experience in running trials including:

  • CTIMPs (Clinical Trial of an Investigational Medicinal Product)
  • Non-CTIMP interventional trials
  • Device trials
  • Trials of complex interventions
  • Observational studies

The OCRU provides the services and facilities to run successful trials covering all aspects of operational support and clinical research activity. We also advise on funding, reviews grant applications, and provides advice on budgets. We support trials with funding from government organisations, charities and industry.

The OCRU is located at Guy’s Hospital, conveniently located directly across the street from London Bridge station, providing easy access for patients and trial participants.

Researchers interested in running a trial at the OCRU are advised to contact the OCRU early to discuss their study and associated costs for services and use of the clinical facility.
