The Hon Sir David Foskett FKC
Lay member of the College Council
Sir David Foskett was appointed a lay member of the College Council in June 2010, and is a member of the Council's Nominations Committee.
A King’s alumnus, Sir David has been associated with the College since his time as a Law undergraduate (1967-1970) graduating LLB in 1970. He was President of the Students’ Union in 1970-1971 and as such served as an observing member of the Delegacy, the predecessor of the College Council.
He was one of the first elected student members of the Delegacy for the year 1971-72. He was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1972 and practised as a barrister until 2007, having been appointed a QC in 1991. He was elected a Bencher of Gray’s Inn in 1999. In 2007 he was appointed a High Court Judge (Queen’s Bench Division) and knighted, following service as a Deputy High Court Judge (1998-2007) and as a Recorder (1995-2007).
He served as President of the King’s College London Association (KCLA) in the period 1997-2000 and was elected a Fellow of King’s College (FKC) in 2009.
