Equality and Diversity at King's

King's is committed to embedding good equality and diversity practice into all of its activities so that the College becomes a richer and more diverse place to work and study. 

The Equalities Unit

King's has a dedicated Equalities Unit that covers both staff and student issues.  Our main responsibilities include:

  • advising on best practice in equalities - in particular ensuring the College is meeting is obligations under the Equality Act 2010
  • developing College strategy, policy and actions in relation to equalities
  • providing support and guidance on cases of bullying, harassment and discrimination
  • maintaining the College's staff networks and faciliating two-way communication to inform policy
  • delivering equality and diversity training for staff and students
  • initiating positive action initiatives such as mentoring schemes
  • faciliating progress with external charter marks such as Athena SWAN
The College also has a dedicated Disability Advisory Service that provides information and support to staff and students with disabilities.
