Honor Oak Park Sportsground

The construction of a full pavilion at Brockley Rise Sportsground, also known as Honor Oak Park. This will provide excellent new social and changing facilities for students and the local community and will complement the new artificial pitches previously installed at the ground.

LTS Architects

Construction period:

39 weeks

Following the completion of phase one, Brockley Rise (HOP) Sportsground re-opened with two brand new floodlit artificial pitches, one grass rugby pitch, one dual purpose rugby/football pitch, a large grass training area, as well as social and changing facilities, currently based in temporary buildings.

These facilities are already a great source of pride for the College and are a vast improvement for King’s students and staff, as well as the numerous College hockey teams and local Schools such as Stillness Junior and Infant Schools who use the ground on a regular basis.

The Pavilion

Phase two of the improvements to Brockley Rise sports ground will commence in April 2012 and we’d like to take this opportunity introduce you to the exciting proposals. A modern and sustainable pavilion with spacious social and changing facilities will replace the temporary facilities currently in place.

The pavilion will be a huge benefit to both King’s staff and students and will also be available for use by the local community. It will provide the finishing touches to a project that has seen the complete transformation of the Brockley Rise Sportsground.

Inevitably, all building work generates a degree of disruption for those who live and work nearby and so we wanted to give local residents as much warning as possible of the impending works. Every effort will be made to keep noise and disruption to a minimum and we will provide updates throughout the work to ensure that all of the key stakeholders involved remain up to speed with progress on site.

We are pleased to announce that the sports ground will remain open during the full construction period so there will no disruption to use of the facilities or to the events taking place on the pitches.

Key Dates

  • April 2012 – Building work commenced
  • Early 2013 - Opening
