Teaching Policy

The College is committed to enhancing teaching and the student learning experience. This commitment is managed through the College’s committee structure which determines strategic direction and policy, principally through Academic Board and College Education Committee.
 
Academic Board is responsible for the academic work of the College in teaching and examining in research, and College Education Committee is responsible for ensuring the College’s academic provision for all programmes leading to an award of the College is of the highest quality and standard, and for enhancing the students’ learning experience. Academic Support and Quality Section services both Academic Board and College Education Committee. It is also responsible for quality assurance matters in respect of College procedures and in liaison with external bodies such as the Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE) and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).
 
The Learning and Teaching Strategy is the principal strategy that sets out the College’s commitment to providing high quality teaching and learning.
 
In addition to the College’s policies and practices King’s provides opportunities for staff to meet the National Teaching Professional Standards which is a national framework.
