In recent decades the field of biology has turned more frequently to quantitative methods in order to gain a greater understanding of living and synthetic systems. Simulation techniques and analytical tools are constantly being developed to test hypotheses that are time and resource consuming with traditional in-vitro and in-vivo methods.
Quantitative Systems Biology is a student led workshop which aims to bring experts together to share contemporary and novel approaches for working at the interface with cellular biology and biomedicine. The main themes of the workshop will be protein aggregation, regulatory networks, and cell fate decisions. The workshop will consist of 5 talks from invited speakers including: M. Madan Babu (MCR Cambridge University), Charlotte Dean (University of Oxford), Alexander Fletcher (University of Sheffield), Carole Protor (Newcastle University) and Peter Swain (University of Edinburgh) as well as a small number of contributed talks from applicants.
The talk will be held at the Nash Lecture Theatre on 03 November 2017.
