To deliver the ambitions of this strategy, our services must keep pace with King’s development and future needs.
High-quality services are essential to an excellent student experience, and to enabling colleagues to focus on what matters most. By simplifying and modernising our systems and processes – we will strengthen the environment in which education, research and innovation flourish, while also using our resources more effectively.
Achieving this will require collective effort, we will work together across the university to design and deliver services that are simpler, smarter and more responsive.

Our objectives
1. Use our resources more effectively
By reviewing and refining how Professional Services operate. This will help us deliver services that are high-quality, sustainable and offer better value – freeing up capacity to reinvest in the things that matter most for students and staff.
2. Redesign student and education
Support through our Student Futures programme, building on the significant progress already made. From 2025/26, this work will reshape how support is organised across Directorates and Faculties, creating an enhanced student experience.
3. Improve key services and systems
Through the Services Futures and Research & Innovation Futures programmes, applying principles of simplicity, co-creation and thoughtful design to ensure services evolve in line with King’s ambitions.
4. Strengthen our capacity to deliver change well
Ensuring transformation is carefully prioritised, consistently managed and supported by colleagues with the right skills, tools and expertise.
