Empowering our students to shape a more sustainable future.
Our world is changing. The climate and ecological crises are becoming more entrenched, calling for a fundamental shift in our societies and economies. From climate impacts to biodiversity loss, social inequality and beyond, this means new paradigms for decision-making, leadership, education, research and innovation. Sustainability is a central part of King’s mission to address these crises. We are harnessing our connections and expertise to empower our graduates to contribute to a more sustainable future; increase the quality, breadth and scale of our climate research; reduce the adverse impacts of our operations; and guide our community to enable just and fair transitions to a positive impact on our planet.

King's Sustainability Strategy provides detailed objectives, targets and evidence to meet our sustainability objectives and targets. Through three main themes – Education, Research & Innovation, and Operations – the strategy reinforces our commitments and considers the changing world to identify how we can meet the most urgent global needs. Following a consultation process with our wider community, the strategy was published in June 2026 to sit alongside King’s Strategy 2030.
