We will build a global community of engaged alumni and supporters who contribute to student success, strengthen innovation and help King’s deliver on its purpose to serve society. A bold new fundraising and engagement campaign will sit at the heart of this effort, aiming to double philanthropic income while deepening the relationships that enrich our university and expand opportunities for our students and staff.
King’s has a long tradition of philanthropy and alumni engagement, from our founding to the landmark £35m gift for the Embrace programme in 2025. These contributions have shaped what we are able to achieve. Looking ahead, philanthropic support will play an increasingly important role in enhancing education, advancing research and contributing to the financial sustainability of the university.
But the potential of our alumni and supporter community extends far beyond philanthropy. Our campaign will create meaningful opportunities for alumni and supporters to contribute – through giving, mentoring, volunteering, partnership and professional engagement. Their insight, networks and professional experience can help students thrive, nurture entrepreneurial ambition and foster a shared sense of community that connects King’s people long after graduation.
By bringing together students, staff, alumni and supporters, we will unlock the full potential of philanthropy and engagement and ensure that King’s continues to make a positive and lasting contribution to society.
Our objectives
1. Grow sustainable philanthropic income
To support King’s long-term ambitions, aligning fundraising priorities with our academic strengths so that philanthropy enhances research excellence, enriches the student experience and strengthens our positive impact on society.
2. Deepen engagement across our global alumni community
Building lifelong connection and belonging among more than 350,000 graduates worldwide. Alumni will play an active role not only as donors, but also as ambassadors, advocates, mentors and volunteers – supporting student success from recruitment through to careers and lifelong learning.
3. Deliver a bold new campaign aligned with King’s bicentenary
Inspiring broad participation and mobilising global support. The campaign will celebrate King’s purpose, amplify our impact and enable investment in initiatives that benefit students, staff and society for generations to come.
