#MyNextSteps workshops

#MyNextSteps workshops help you tackle key topics for different stages of your career journey. These workshops take place throughout the year, but are also available as recordings on the #MyNextSteps KEATS page.

Topics are themed by stages of your career journey and include:

• Discover: 'What do I want from my career after university?' and 'Searching for career opportunities'.
• Focus: 'Getting meaningful work experience and internships' and 'Networking for your career using LinkedIn and more'.
• Action: 'CVs, cover letters, personal statements and application forms' and 'Job interviews, psychometric tests and assessment centres'.

Labour market insights workshops

Labour market insights workshops are delivered online throughout the year by our specialist employer relations and development advisers. They provide an in-depth look at the graduate labour market within particular industries.

Faculty and departmental workshops

As well as central careers workshops, our careers consultants run workshops in departments and faculties across King's. These workshops are often supported by academics, student ambassadors and societies, and take place throughout the academic year.

Workshops for researchers and research staff

Our dedicated Research Talent Careers Education team run workshops and events specifically to support researchers at King’s.

We work closely with the Centre for Doctoral Studies and the Centre for Research Staff Development to provide a variety of events that help you develop your career management skills, increase your career confidence and hear from experts in different sectors.

Drop-in careers lounges

Drop-in careers lounges take place in departments and across our campuses. They can help you:

• understand how your degree enhances your knowledge, attributes and skills
• understand employment or further study options with your degree
• unlock meaningful work experience, internships and work simulations
• learn how to use our digital careers tools effectively.

King's Skills for the Future

King's Skills for the Future is a self-assessment tool and set of learning pathways on King's CareerConnect.

It is designed to help you evaluate, develop and expand your existing skill set. It focuses on 36 high-value skills that are particularly important for your employability.
